Hey! My name is Ran Yatim, I'm a storyteller, director and producer.
10 years ago, I missed a flight and found a career in filmmaking.
I was enjoying the final hours of my vacation in Louisiana when I met a producer, who changed the course of my life. I have decided to cancel my flight and join his production company in Baton Rouge, LA. That fateful (and yes, “crazy”) decision began a mentorship and crash-course in the movie business. During that time, I worked my way up from the PA office to working as a PM.
My time in Louisiana led me to move to Los Angeles to join an independent production company on the Universal Studios lot. There, I served as a Production Executive, responsible for the legal delivery of over a dozen Indie feature films that we sold to LIONSGATE and VOLTAGE PICTURES. I had the privilege of working with filmmakers like Bob Shaye, Jason Hewitt, Michael Benaroya, Phil Goldfine, Michael Lynn, and more.
In 2018, I struck out on my own to create projects that focus on stories of the marginalized. These projects include “Not Alone,” which centers a sister struggling to balance her own ambitions with caring for her autistic brother, and “The Comfort Zone,” the story of a white tax attorney who has his life turned upside down by A black trans rockstar woman.
Media influences our perception of both ourselves and others and has a powerful ability to oppress or empower those whose stories are told – or are not told. I became a filmmaker to spread love by opening minds to a world where we are more united and equal – regardless of your gender, ethnicity, size, socioeconomic status, etc. I am passionate about stories that normalize life in all its shapes, open the audience’s heart, and encourage us all to be our authentic selves.
I LOVE to collaborate with different artists that share a passion for change. Together, we can design a world we always wanted to see ourselves living in.
Don't hesitate to contact me :)
One love.
x
